About us - Costa Blanca's Leading Estate Agent since 2002

Welcome. Learn a little about us, and meet the team

Things have certainly changed since we wrote this content five long years ago!

Due to circumstances beyond our control our firm, Comaskey Properties is certainly not the leading estate agency on the Costa Blanca.

We'll get back there very soon with the help of the new, and some of the old, team. We build our reputation on very specific values. They went out the window when we sold to SunWorld back in 2018 but now we are again building our business on service, value and honesty. Profits are not the most important thing to me. When i was younger, I had different principles, but I prefer the new me!!

Our clients were good to us over 16 successful years and we are now going to help them. We still see buyers and sellers in Spain continue to make huge mistakes, generally through the incompetence of their agents.

We own the law office Spanish Solutions too so we literally get the problems on our desk. We understand better than anyone what is going wrong for unsuspecting clients.

People who buy through Comaskey will save money, stress and maybe avoid legal issues too.

Please, read on to see how we viewed things in 2016.

The Comaskey Office

Hello, and thank you for checking out the Comaskey "About Us" page.

It's amazing how many people buy property in Spain without ever knowing who they are actually dealing with. I'm Ian Comaskey, from Co. Westmeath in Ireland, husband to Lynne from Glasgow, and daddy to Finn and Ruari. We hope to welcome baby number three later this autumn.

My background is varied since 2001 in Spain - opening and running businesses here and in Ireland. As well as Real Estate I've dabbled in Bars, Cafes, Internet cafes, a Wine Shop, (we closed it due to the amount of free wine we all were sampling!!!!) Hairdressers, Legal and Tax business and a successful travel agency. My real enthusiasm outside of family and business is sports, and there is no better country in the world than Spain to indulge that passion.

Since the crisis hit Spain in 2008, we built a portfolio of property in Ireland and in Spain which we manage from our home here in Cabo Roig.

My involvement in Comaskey in La Zenia is very little these days. I figured out early that the team worked better with me out of the way. I simply put the system in place, working with Silvia Sanchez and Claire Thompson building our SOPs and I have full faith in the team’s ability to execute every stage of the Spanish buying process.

Claire Griggs deals with the leads management so potential buyers know that we do care- she even works late at night from home replying to clients' enquiries.

The Sales team know the market inside out, why wouldn't they with the thousands of deals they've done between them. The team is not paid on a commission-only basis like most agencies in Spain, meaning a non-pushy sales experience for our buyers

.

Tracie is the glue in the process, taking buyers and sellers from contract and deposit stage to completion in the notary.

Spanish Solutions, although not official team members, ensure that clients have their paperwork in order, utility contracts cancelled or set up and that not one euro too little or too much is paid in tax.

Quick rundown on me... I grew up in sunny Drumcree, Co Westmeath and love to get back as often as I can with the family. My parents, live on our farm in Delvin and like me they were involved in multiple businesses. They owned the Mullingar Squash and Leisure club for ten years, we were rabbit farmers, my dad is proud (more so than I am) that he opened the first line dancing school in Ireland in '94, but the big move for them was in opening the famous Paddy’s Point Irish Bar in La Zenia in 1998.

After a deferred year or two, I graduated from UCD in 1998 with a degree in Sports Management and opened Comaskey in 2002.

It was the perfect vehicle for me to explore my entrepreneurial side and it really worked. I'm proud of the 2,500 happy clients we have had and I am thrilled that the team believes in the system, the philosophy and the values we've established at Comaskey.

We know that you, as a buyer or seller of property in Spain' will see the benefits of working with such a trustworthy group of people. Now meet the team.
